Most cable companies bundle their services and offer real savings to customers who sign up for multiple services so you might actually save money by adding services, at least in the short term. So here is what you have to do: go down to your local cable systems payment center and ask for an HD Cable box. You will have to decide if you want t miller welders o go with just HD or HD with a built in DVR tuner, but either way get the box and ask for an install kit. The install kit should have at least Component and Audio cables. It might come with HDMI, S-Video, Composite or Audio Y Cables. You will also need the Remote Control and you should ask for any literature on the box. Once you have the box you will need to install it. Look to see where the old TV is plugged into the wall and make sure that it does not go anywhere but directly onto the Cable IN port on the back of the box. I know that the $300.00 surge protector you bought has a cable in and a cable out, but please don?t use it, most of the time all it does is alter or block the return path, which affects your On Demand type services.

What If You No Longer Existed? (Part 1)

This is not a new age riddle or philosophical question; it is a real problem that millions of people face more frequently that most people realize. It might happen because of a lightning strike or a power spike. YOU could be stolen, corrupted, burnt up, get washed away or just disappear for no apparent reason. YOU are your data, and losing your data could actually be the most terrifying thing that will ever happen to you – and believe me, sooner or later it will happen to YOU. Most of us are “knowledge workers” (expression made famous by Peter Drucker in 1959), a phrase used to categorize the computer workforce of today. Our daily work tasks are performed using computers and in an incredibly short span this occupational technology was incorporated into our personal lives via the personal computer. No one could have predicted electronic store that the PC, which was once purely a business tool, would become a ‘lifestyle enhancer’ as commonplace or as invaluable as microwave ovens and cable TV. With the exception of a decreasing non-computer literate senior citizen population, do you know anyone who does not have a PC in their home? Broadband Internet and home networks are a staple of modern life. We shop, do our banking, research, trade stocks, download music and videos, connect to our business, play games and communicate with the world from our personal computers. Most of us have a detailed history of our lives stored on our PCs. From our financial records to family photos, who we are – is bits on a hard drive. If the “ones and zeros” that make up your life disappear, it will be as if you never existed. At one time or another, all of us have lost a file.

Dialogue: the Key to Human Communication

Words have power. Their invisible, weightless energy shapes and colors the world around us like an artist’s brush. An endless supply of opinions flood us from corporate media, the Internet and other forms of mass and personal communication everyday. Soundbite-driven mass media reduces complex issues into black and white fragments forcing viewers into an artificial us-versus-them mentality. Caught in this morass of information overload, we don’t have time to think and sort through all the competing perspectives. Certainly our education system holds some responsibility for weakening the “art of conversation,” but no matter the source, our interpersonal, family and civic lives are in jeopardy. With much of the media creating adrenalin-triggering content to keep viewers in a constant state of urgency and drama, what is lost is our sense of commonality, wholeness and shared understanding. Most people sense that we live in an age of boundless potential, yet are faced with a va digital guitar tuner riety of ongoing and impending crises with no clear solutions. True dialogue gives us a method to cut through the chatter and restore us back to our core values, basic humanity and common connections. Rather then focus on divisiveness, dialogue can aid in seeing the world coherently. Leading authorities on the theory of dialogue have developed practical applications to help organizations and individuals uncover a shared framework where greater understanding can emerge. As one of the essential building blocks of human relations, these results can be applied to all aspects of our lives: work, personal relationships, politics and community building. William Isaacs, in Dialogue and the Art of Thinking Together, writes: ”Dialogue is not in the end merely about talking, it is about taking action. And at its best, dialogue includes powerful aesthetics such as: meaning, creativity, ethics and action. Dialogue fulfills deeper, more widespread needs then simply ‘getting to yes.
